Your OS may warn you
The macOS build is signed and notarized, so it opens without argument. The Windows builds are not signed, so SmartScreen will interrupt the installer with an "unrecognised app" panel — that is what an unsigned installer looks like, not a sign the download is damaged.
The signing and distribution page explains exactly what each system says and the least alarming way past it.

Signing & distribution →Which Linux package?
Take the .deb on Debian, Ubuntu and their derivatives. The AppImage needs no install and runs anywhere — make it executable and launch it.
On Fedora, RHEL, Rocky and AlmaLinux take the .rpm. It is built in a Fedora container, so its dependency metadata is the real thing rather than Debian's translated.
